The Brown monument is a tall Victorianstyle with the Hope statue. Hope was a standard statute of the Smith Granite Company. The anchor could becut plain, with a rope or with a garland of flowers. This monument was cut before 1882 therefore is no record of it in the order books of the Smith Granite Company that are owned by the Babcock-Smith House Museum.
